Our planning committee has been hard at work planning our second educational program and state-wide meeting. This year we are pleased to announce that Merck is sponsoring an evening event on October 13, 2016. We will start at 5:30 PM with a meet and greet, followed by dinner and our speaker Grant C. Fowler MD, Vice Chair & Professor Dept. of Family and Community Medicine, University of Texas Medical School Assistant Chief of Family Med., Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Medical and he will speak on Population Health Management and Standardized Care in Type 2 Diabetes. Followed by a meeting of the Coordinating Body and the Local Networking Groups. This is a free program but there will not be CEU's. We encourage you to attend and network with those doing diabetes care across the state. If you will be attending this program be sure to register for it during the registration process.
On Friday we have a wonderful all day program planned, with Registration starting at 7:30. We will begin promptly at 8 AM. We have a great variety of speaker who will address topics that will help you grow your diabetes education programs and ensure that you are being reimbursed for the services you offer. Next we will learn receive about the status of Diabetes Prevention in Virginia and how you may get involved.
Medication management is continually changing and we have two great sessions discussing the new insulins and pattern management.
And we will wrap up the day learning how we can adapt to the changing healthcare environment and so we may position ourselves as invaluable resources.
